First and foremost, we play Blue this Wednesday night (12/15/10) at 10:00pm in the first round of the playoffs. Yes, Blue. They won the regular season in a final-game victory over Red.

On the drive home from the game tonight I was trying to think of what we're missing this season (besides more wins), and what's different/wrong with our team, and then it hit me...

I suspect you've already inserted your own answer before reading-on and that's exactly the problem.

I believe each of us are too busy focusing on what's wrong with our team and on everyone else making mistakes that we loose site of our own play, competitiveness, and what it takes to be a teammate. Scratch that not just a teammate, but an Indy Killer Bee and I'll be the first to admit it.

It goes without saying that this season is far different from and our previous ones (and our record clearly shows it), but the biggest thing that upsets me is our collective team attitude. I truly, truly enjoy having you all as teammates and hope the rest of what I have to say will motivate you to bring new attitudes, and a fire in your ass to our game Wednesday night. Not just to win, but to end this season the way we should.

Here are the facts...
1) We probably have too many guys on our roster. Shit, the PCAHL could have another whole team with the amount of bodies we have.

2) None of us consistently stake with each other enough to build true on-ice chemistry. We all have lives outside of hockey so we're each going to miss games here and there.

3) A lot of guys are being forced to play positions they're not familiar with.

4) Nieder probably has 90% or more of our goals. He's damn good, but we can't expect him to do everything.

5) Carrie is not keeping stats for us this year so I've been doing a poor job of keeping up the website.

6) I think we've completed a total of 10 - 15 successful, tape-to-tape passes this entire season.

7) We have some rookies.

8) Our on-ice whining to compliment/encouragement ratio is easily 10:1

9) Nobody has said "Buzz Buzz" or "Electricity!" the entire friggen season!

10) We've left 90% of our games with our heads down wanting to blame our loss on someone else's mistake or pl

These are the cards we've been dealt and I can't change that. You can either choose to work with the team or against your call.

Take a minute today and think about how you want to end this season and show me and the rest of the Indy Killer Bees your answer by putting in the work on the ice this Wednesday night.

Buzz Buzz,
- Mac #12
- I will have 2 points in Wednesday's game - guaranteed.

I wholeheartedly agree with Mac's assessment. We all need to quit bitching, sack up, and take the burden on ourselves. We can all play better and that's exactly what we all need to do Wednesday night. Buzz Buzz!
